Wrestling - Gator Roll 2012

RYAN SPEARS - 1ST PLACE - 152 - KLEIN OAK GATOR ROLL 2012 ~ So, it never dawned on me to take the regular camera. We have all of Ryan's matches recorded on video - unfortunately, there is some crazy woman screaming and carrying on in most of the video (sorry, Ryan). He's going to try and get them off the video camera and onto his Facebook page. If he does it, warning, you'll want to keep the volume down. I know this is incredibly blurry but this was Ryan winning first place. You will note that his coach's feet (guy in the red shirt and jeans) are not touching the ground. I think we were all a little excited!

Wrestling & Twilight

Wrestling season started yesterday...Ryan was VERY disappointed that he missed the Varsity Team by 1 point but he'll have an opportunity to try out again. Until then he'll wrestle JV. Last night was the first match - he pinned the guy in under 40 seconds!! (No, no picture yet - I'll get one though.) **UPDATE: Ryan just called...the 152 varsity wrestler is hurt, so Ryan will be wrestling Varsity!!! Can you say EXCITED? The boy is EXCITED!!** And as it happened last year, Ryan had a wrestling match on the same night the newest Twilight movie came out...

We purchased tickets to watch a double feature - Breaking Dawn 1 then Breaking Dawn 2, the final installment of the Twilight series. Went with Deana and Amy - I have NO IDEA why Amy and her friend decided to wear Cow pajamas - and of course, Amy had to throw in a tutu?!?!? Anyway, if you've watched the other Twilight movies, you'll want to see this one! Minus the cows, probably :o)

Family Reunion & other things...

Dan's family reunion was held at the end of October at Brazos Bend State Park. Here are Dan and his sisters, Kathy and Twila.

And here is Twila with our niece, Julia! Haven't seen Julia in many years - it was so good to see her!

Donny's Homecoming took place at the end of September this year. He stopped by the rehab facility before he left to show off his suit to Gram. What a handsome young man! And a proud Grandma!

Preston was in Thailand in August as part of his deployment. As you can see, he spent some time "hanging" with an elephant!!

Vacation 2012

We started our vacation with a 2 day drive to Rock Springs, Wyoming. My parents decided they wanted to visit my brother, Jay and his wife, Penny for a little while. Mom was in the front passenger's seat and this was the rest of the group. This was taken on day 2 - I think you could tell that by the expressions!

Jay & Penny live in a pretty cool area, as far as having fun...Donny and Ryan really got into the dirt bike riding.

Riding the "Gator" around is fun too!!

The next day it was off to the Tetons and Yellowstone.

My sister, Jenni and her husband, Brian were so nice to meet us there and serve as our guides.Thank you so much!!

Grand Canyon of Yellowstone...

Elk...we were a long way away from this guy but Jenni and Brian have a new camera that zooms a really long way!! We have some great shots we wouldn't have had without them sharing their pictures! Thanks, again!

Solitary Geyser...

There's just so much to see...I can't possibly show it all here...but if you ever get a chance to go to Yellowstone, don't pass it up!! There's such a variety of things to see and they're all fantastic!! We had a great time and enjoyed our time spent with Jenni, Brian, and their 3 Westies, Chewy, Wally and Hazel - THANK YOU!

Then it was back to my brother's house for more time on the bikes...unfortunately it only lasted a few minutes...

Yeah, Donny broke his foot. He was a real Heeman though...we bought him crutches and he made it back to Houston before he had the pins put in!! What a guy!

Before we left, Jay and Penny took Dan and I up to the butte! As Penny says, Wyoming has it's own kind of beauty!! Many thanks to Jay and Penny for letting us hang at your house and for the tour of Wyoming!!

Of course, before we left, we had to get some donuts and kolache's from Cowboy Donuts - YUM!! Many thanks to everyone who took the time to come see us, spend time with us or meet us somewhere - we had a good vacation - THANK YOU!

Something new...

So, we had to make a purchase and once it was set up this is what happened:

The girls were sooo interested, Emmy wanted to chase it, Francis was a little leary of it, and Dot just wanted to know what it was!! You might also notice Dan's shoe in the picture...he was sitting on the stairs watching it too. So what could it be??

A new dryer - our old one bit the dust - the new one has a glass door and apparently it's entertaining!!!

Proud Aunt...

I have some hard working and smart nieces and nephews. Here are 2 of them...they both worked, while raising a family and going to school and stuck it out to the end. I'm so proud of them and of their spouses for supporting them!! Congratulations!!
